Community Outreach Project in San Fernando Valley
The purpose of the Community Outreach project in San Fernando Valley was to generate more public awareness on the 2010 Census, and encourage residents who have not filled out their form to do so immediately. A complete census count is important because it determines the annual distribution of more than $300 billion in government funding for critical community services including locations for school, roads, hospitals, job training, retail stores, child care, senior citizen centers, new housing developments, & more. The venue of FACC-SFV outreach was at Seafood City North Hills area. The Fil-Am Complete Count Committee (FilAmCCC) representatives were spread out and assigned on different locations such as Glendale, Baldwin Park, San Gabriel Valley, Carson, Anaheim, and all the four (4) Seafood City locations Eagle Rock, Carson, West Covina, and North Hills. |
